Nomadic Sight is the result in the form of a photobook of the visual journey that the Chinese artist Ren Bo began in 2012 around the relationship between the real and the unreal. In it, he blends the tradition of landscape painting with Chinese ink (山水, shan shui, mountains and water) with contemporary photography, to create a modern, elegant and delicate work, which is rooted in the deep relationship that the artists Chinese have had throughout history with nature and the landscape
“A photographer is a lonely nomad who goes on her way, capturing and scanning scenes with wandering eyes and moving hands. The pixels become the sound of silence. They are transformed into the vibration of waves and the dynamics of structures at the frequency of the sound current. Time flows in a reckless and improvised way, like a heavy fluid, accompanied by the weightless feeling of the clouds, and, carried by them, dances with the avalanche of softness and receptivity”. —Ren Bo
