Greek concert guitarist Ioanna Kazoglou, winner of First Prize at the 1st Ciudad de Málaga International Guitar Competition in 2025, returns to el Bote de Luz. On this occasion, she will captivate us with an intimate concert in which the classical guitar will serve as a bridge between three fascinating musical worlds: the depth, balance and harmonic richness of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750); the Romantic sensitivity, virtuosity and evocative power of Francisco Tárrega (1852–1909); and the strength, colour and rhythmic intensity of Joaquín Rodrigo (1901–1999).

On 3 June 2026, Ioanna Kazoglou performed Rodrigo’s masterpiece, the Concierto de Aranjuez, as a soloist with the Málaga Symphony Orchestra at the Teatro Cervantes. She will now perform for a small audience at el Bote de Luz, presenting a programme that will include, among other works, Bach’s Suite BWV 997, Tárrega’s Gran Jota and Rodrigo’s Toccata. Composed in 1933, the latter remained unperformed for seven decades owing to its technical difficulty and the loss of its manuscript.

The programme spans three periods, styles and different approaches to music, combining the precision of Baroque counterpoint and Bach’s expressive serenity with the colour, energy and melodic richness of the Spanish repertoire.

Rhythm, lyricism, virtuosity and emotion come together in a refined and engaging programme for lovers of classical music and the guitar, who will have the opportunity to experience the exquisite musicianship and technical mastery of this young, Germany-based performer.

Ioanna Kazoglou was born in 2003 in Lemos, a small village in north-western Greece. Despite her young age, she has already toured, performed as a soloist and given recitals in countries including Greece, South Korea, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Italy and Germany.

Kazoglou’s concert reflects the philosophy of el Bote de Luz: to offer artistic and cultural experiences for small audiences, often bringing together different disciplines—particularly photography, music and the moving image. These initiatives include the classical guitar concert series Guitars at Sunset, where audience members can hear the artist breathe, follow the dance of her fingers across the strings and frets, and feel the deep pulse of the guitar.

After the performance, guests will be offered a complimentary glass of wine and will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the artist.
